I have found that not only do people really comment on how much they like the name 'Chakra Bleu', but that they are intrigued by it, and desire to know how it came about.
When I first started studying yoga, I was introduced to the chakra's (which are energy centers associated with our glands, organs, and overall health). There are seven that run along our spine; each one having its own significance, colour and so forth. The fifth chakra is located at the throat area and is blue. It corresponds to where one creatively expresses her/himself. (I will attach links to more information for you to read. It's truly fascinating! As I continued studying the meditative kind of yoga (Raja), and later started practicing what most of us Westerners think yoga is about-(Hatha), where one puts the body in all those crazy contortions. Lol.
Anyway, I was hanging around my friends this one night and sharing my experiences and fervour for yoga under the tutelage of my beloved teacher Swami Adeyananda. (Meanwhile, I was currently searching for a name that would best represent my passion for writing and performing music that exudes a conduit of Joy, through energy, intention, lyrics and singing; that connect my Heart's Essence to the Beauty and Core Essence of the audience and listeners.) My friends, almost instantaneously said, "You should call yourself 'Blue Chakra!'
We all laughed and agreed that the symbology of the name was perfectly fitting for my unique expression of music, that oddly enough, was able to connect to a wide array of audience (age, male/female, race, spiritual/non-spiritual/religious, etc.)
I said, "You know, Y'all Really have something here! I LIKE it and something about that name feels right! Yet, I'm going to suggest that my name be 'CHAKRA BLEU', as I'm not a down and out sort of gal. You get it - my music is not down in the Blues! I'm going to spell BLUE the French way: B-L-E-U. Plus, there's a double entendre, whereby in French, there's an exclamation which is close to our 'Holy Cow!'/'Holy Mother!' - which is: 'Sacre Bleu!!' (pronounced Saw-cru Blu). I'll pronounce my name like: Shaw-cru- Blu. This will create a Vibe of 'Wow!' behind it. The name CHAKRA BLEU carries purpose, along with a sense of lightness, as well as a silly 'tongue in cheek' sort of thang! Fun! It's a fit y'all. Thank you!"
The name CHAKRA BLEU took off quite well! So I created a symbol as well, and Trademarked it!
